Narciso has a degree in Pharmacy by the Universidad de Salamanca and a PhD on Food Science and Biotechnology by the Universidad de Burgos. After working as postdoc at the University of Vienna and the FFoQSI GmbH (Austria), now Narciso is a Marie Curie researcher at CIALE (USAL). His work is focused on the development of bioinformatic tools for the analysis of the microbiome on different environments of the ‘farm-to-table’ food chain, and their relationship with antimicrobial resistances and mobile genetic elements, by using different high-throughput DNA sequence approaches: amplicon-sequencing, whole genome sequencing, RNA-seq, smallRNA-seq, metagenomics and metatranscriptomics.
